Offline Digital Reference Inspection ODRI
ODRI is a scanner based inspection system, which compares analogue or digital master (PDF or TIFF) with the printed product. It is designed to verify the correctness of the printed image and detect pre-press errors, plate and print defects.Details
The inspection is done in 300 or 600 dpi resolutions, allowing the system to detect very small defects in characters, barcodes and numbers. ODRI can verify foreign language text and detect register and colour deviations. The inspection results are shown side by side and summarized in a protocol in PDF format.
Typical use of ODRI is after the printing press. One print repeat sample is taken from the end of the roll and inspected on the ODRI. The operator checks the differences and either accepts them or rejects them. The quick detection of plate problems saves time and materials and reduces the risk of costly recalls.
ODRI is designed for use in the packaging and label-printing industries. The system will automatically find the labels in the repeat and will inspect them. The interface is easy to understand and requires no computer knowledge from the operator.
